I could write a book . . . and am certain others could, too . . . there were a couple of guys on the '85 defense I wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley . . . but with the Bears, it's long been more "boys will be boys" kind of stuff than careers of hardcore sexual abuse . . .

Alonzo Spellman comes quickly to mind.

It WAS retarded. Why not try to make it a two-score game?

    I absolutely love Rex Ryan.

He's the perfect antidote for tight ass control freaks like Belichick.

We're journalists. We want people to be candid and affable.

Oh, and the Bears thing: Tank Johnson. Cedric Benson. They also, at some point, had the Nebraska guy on the roster a couple years ago who had a mile-long rap sheet of sexual assault charges. Not Lawrence Phillips, but the defensive player. The white dude. Can't remember his name.

    Yeah, that's it! Thanks.

As far as Johnson and Benson go, however, I would put them both in the category of good dudes who do dumb shit.

I also remember Lance Briggs crashing his sports car and leaving the scene of the accident at about 3 a.m.

    Can't imagine why!

Again: Good dude who did something dumb.

  7. Peter also played for the Giants, who drafted him in spite of his history, and the Colts.

And then there's the TE from Washington who is still in the NFL - Seattle or Tampa maybe? Jerramy Stevens.

Sanchez doesn't have to beat them by himself. The Steelers are going to have some trouble with the Jets' defense, too. Sanchez might only have to make a few plays to win it.

In support of OOP's point, I cite the following stat on the Jets' offense yesterday. The scoring drives for their four touchdowns totaled a combined 16 plays. The Jets need Sanchez to strike when the iron is hot -- like after failed fake punts -- and avoid handing the other team the branding iron with turnovers. These things are hard to do against the Steelers, but not impossible.

Evil - I think christian peters was actually drafted by the Patriots. But the owner's wife was so appalled at his background when they uncovered it in the media that he was cut before he even got to training camp

Jerramy Stevens is out of the league.
