I'm not going to get into the argument that Roethlisberger does not get calls that Brady and Manning do, for the same reason I argue with just about any conspiracy theory advanced on here.

That said, Suggs did hit him in the head on the fumble that the Ravens returned for a touchdown. I'm not going to sit here and tell you the officials missed it on purpose, but they damn sure missed it what should have been a penalty on Baltimore on a play that looked huge at the time.

I was thinking there was some Cleveland connection along with the anti-Steelers stuff. But hey, if you want to join LJB's tinfoil hat brigade, enjoy making an ass of yourself.

    proud pittsburgher,

My personal rooting interests are immaterial. I hardly recall ever mentioning them on this site. Who cares who pulls for whom? If I'm a gambler, my fortunes are going to be tied to the officiating team assigned to Baltimore/Pittsburgh. You're forgetting the elephant in the room.

Is that a pink elephant you see?

Your personal rooting interests are immaterial? You seriously think that one is going to fly?

FYI, from Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News:

Yellow flags: For the third year in a row there is a new king of penalties. Referee Ed Hochuli and his officiating crew called a league-high 216 penalties in 2010, edging out the Tony Corrente crew by three.

But Corrente marched off a league-high 1,989 yards with his 213 penalties. Corrente's crew officiated one more game than the Hochuli crew, however.

The Walt Anderson crew led the NFL with 205 penalties in 2009, and the Ron Winter crew was tops with 217 penalties in 2008. Home teams posted a 12-3 record in games the Pete Morelli crew worked. Road teams were 9-6 apiece in games worked by the crews of Hochuli, Jerome Boger and Carl Cheffers. Here's a 2010 scorecard of the officiating crews:

    Crew Games Penalties Yards
    Ed Hochuli 15 216 1,792
    Tony Corrente 16 213 1,989
    Jeff Triplette 15 205 1,785
    Jerome Boger 15 198 1,799
    Carl Cheffers 15 195 1,586
    Mike Carey 15 191 1,614
    Bill Leavy 15 191 1,539
    Terry McAulay 15 185 1,603
    Gene Steratore 15 184 1,388
    Walt Coleman 15 178 1,523
    Walt Anderson 15 170 1,351
    Ron Winter 15 168 1,392
    Clete Blakeman 15 167 1,342
    Alberto Riveron 15 164 1,406
    John Parry 15 163 1,324
    Scott Green 15 163 1,296
    Pete Morelli 15 150 1,320

Exactly how much effort do you expect me to waste on your foolishness? Hell, even you back down from posting some of this crap. You hint and dance around with it because even you, on some level, understand how stupid it is.

Thank you for admitting defeat. Now can we get back to talking about football?

  10. I tried to ask him legitimate questions and at least try and understand where he is coming from. Poo-pooing someone's points because, well. he says I am missing something, isn't an argument I care to continue. I am a Steelers fan, I admit that, but his conspiracy theories are weak at best, and he dodged pretty much everything I asked. He is th eVinnie in the red suit, I'll be vinnie from the end of the movie. :) I didn't expect much else, though.

  11. No, I get it. I wasn't bringing it up as a conspiracy theory . . . I'm past that and it never seems to cost the Steelers a game, so I don't have a lot to argue. But I'm just letting him know that not every call goes in the Steelers favor.
