ok - lets talk football. Heath Miller is going to have his head taken off by Eric Smith when he come across middle.

I know you are kidding, but it always cracks me up when some TV guys go on about the Steelers having all these "quarterback" at receiver. The Steelers haven't really used Ward for those types of trick plays very often in his career. Ward has thrown two passes in his career, none since 2001.

Maybe they are just setting the league up? :)

Wouldn't be the first time this season, which is why he didn't play in the first meeting. Then again, I don't think Smith did, either.

I'm just looking for one more excuse to lock this thread, guys. So keep fucking around. See what happens.

Why? Winning games in the playoffs has nothing to do with the quarterback. It's about the team.

If this thread makes it through a Pittsburgh Super Bowl, it will be the greatest upset in the history of this board.

That said, please keep it open. :)

And I were the guy calling the players for the Steelers, I would have found more than two occasions this year to have Randle El throw a pass.

I got into a discussion about Steelers-Jets game with a buddy of mine (not a fan of either team) last night. He thought a big difference might be the health of Darrelle Revis, who wasn't quite 100 percent the first time. Mike Wallace caught seven passes for 102 yards that day.

For those following the Jets more closely, is Revis really that much healthier now? The Steelers won with the Ravens pretty much taking Wallace away Saturday, but I doubt they can make a habit of it given how big of a part of the offense he is now.

Did you see what Revis did to Reggie Wayne. Revis will take Wallace out of game.

Big Ben loves to hang on to football which leaves Steelers susceptible to Jet blitzes.

Hopefully The Steelers stick to their unwillingness to throw swing passes to their backs.

The chess match between the Steelers and the Jets will be fantastic Saturday.

Each team has four solid receivers and at least three from each team can get down the field deep. They each have a dangerous tight end and a running back that can go 40-50 yards up the middle of the field or around the edge.

Game planning for that cannot be fun.

The Jets probably know they can easily get to Roethlisberger, but that might not be enough. The Steelers know that once they get to Sanchez, even though it will be harder, that the play is probably over.

Oh the football we could learn being a fly on the wall in these film rooms this week.

If I'm the Jets, I put Revis over Wallace, Cromartie over Sanders and let Ward and Miller beat me. Ward cannot beat you deep. Wallace will destroy anyone other than Revis.

If I'm the Steelers, I blitz less than normal, drop more into coverage and make Sanchez try to throw into a lot of defenders because I think his wild throws will lead to picks. When the Steelers blitz, hit the edges and strip the ball.

That last part is a good point. That has been a problem for years. Mendenhall is actually a decent receiver, too. They just refuse to use him that way.
