For reasons known only to itself, Fox has shipped Boston the Eagles-Jags game. I must say Vick has made some mighty good plays considering the Eagles offensive line cannot block.

Yes, I can certainly see why so many people are convinced Michael Vick is not a good quarterback. I don't know if he has proper mechanics and all the other bullshit that keeps people like Kyle Orton employed but you won't find seven or eight guys in the league who are more exciting and are better players at that position.

Holy smokes. Barring complete collapse, the Chiefs are gonna win 10!

However, it will be "fool's gold" come playoff time -- like the Tennessee Titans 13-3 records of previous years and, eventual, divisional weekend home playoff losses.

But a return to the playoffs is most welcome.

Complete fail at the end of the first half for Seattle.

As I've said, we've all seen Vick's "ceiling" in this league. What is fortunate for him is that the league has about 10 "great" to "elite" quarterbacks. He can easily be the #11-#13 QB in the league.

He played well against a Green Bay team in prevent, he beat the Lions by 3 and now he's looking good against Jacksonville.

Vick is the solution for 2010 if you are looking at, strictly, a W-L. Vick as the starter could make them 9-7 at best. Kolb might have them at 6-10 at 7-9. That's two/three more wins on a team that won't get past Green Bay, Atlanta, New Orleans, Chicago (?), Dallas (?).

HOWEVER... and maybe this is where Reid is smarter than ALL of us. The NFC has gotten considerably weaker than one year ago. MAYBE Reid looks around and thinks, "Gee, Minnesota stinks, New Orleans is showing cracks, Dallas has issues. Maybe this won't be the rebuilding year after all because the road through the playoffs will be easier. Screw seeing if Kolb is the long-term solution. We could win 9 with Vick and take our chances of beating Chicago-New Orleans-Green Bay to make the Super Bowl."

IF that's what he is really thinking, I have a ton of respect for the ability to shift expectations.

CBS showed footage from Jeff Fisher's first game as Titans Oilers coach today (also against the Giants). I envisioned a much younger Zag screaming that this guy wasn't going to amount to shit. :D :D :D

The schedule is quite favorable, but still a loooooooooooooong way to go. As it is, I'm just gonna bask in 3-0 for a fortnight and hope that they're competitive in the next two. If they stay competitive in those games, I'll feel a little more settled.

At what point does the NFL as a great TV experience become a detriment to the game-day, in-person experience, it it's not already there? The shield has, in my opinion, made the experience of going to a game too difficult and too expensive. It's going to cost them one day.

Eagles up 21-3 on the Jaguars, who are so horrendous that not even Vince Young could save them, and Dog killer Vick is throwing bombs to DeSean Jackson, who gets up and acts like he just won the Super Bowl. The Eagles have just EASILY become the team I hate the most in professional sports. EASILY.

If by "ceiling" you mean, the best player in the league, yeah that's pretty much we've seen from him. And the idea that there are 10 to 12 quarterbacks better than Vick is retarded.

    Let's go by division --

In the AFC East one team - New England - wouldn't trade their guy for his. The other three would in a heartbeat.

He is better than every QB except Roethlisberger in the AFC North. And don't even try to give me Flacco or Palmer - both are ridiculously overrated and neither will ever win anything.

In the AFC South obviously Manning is better and I'll even give you Schaub. No way in hell is Vince Young better and David Garrard is the epitome of mediocre "game manager" NFL quarterback.

In the AFC West -- I'll grant you Phillip Rivers, though I'm not nearly as high on him as some are. The other three - no fucking way.

So let's review - in the AFC there five. In the NFC there are two Brees and Rodgers. If you want to try and throw Ryan in there, OK, whatever - that is eight at the very most and I'd say that is being extremely generous to a couple of those guys.

Like I said, he is easily one of the best quarterbacks in the league and more importantly, he is one of the best players in the league and even more importantly - in a league loaded with mediocrity and cookie cutter offenses, he's someone who is exciting enough that people want to see him play just to see what he will do next.

If we're not at the tipping point, we're no more than a step away.
It's too difficult to justify season-ticket support of mediocre franchises
with scant hope of substantial improvement within the foreseeable.

I think we're there. Lots of seats going unused. TV ratings are up double figures percentage wise. You can sit at home and watch RedZone Channel all day. That channel is like crack. And no commercials.
