Skins v. Eagles next week. Do I root for the team I've followed my whole life or Michael Vick? Hmmmm....

Hell, the way the Skins' defense is playing, Vick might throw for 7 TDs and run for a couple more. Awesome.

The offense around Batch was damn impressive today. The line gave him tremendous protection and gave Mendenhall, Redman and Moore plenty of room to run. Mendenhall was outstanding. Give him a chance to get going and he's a bitch to bring down. Very physical approach.

Batch did a nice job, but he did throw two ugly interceptions and both long touchdowns to Wallace could have easily been intercepted. Wallace did a nice job making plays for him on both. I wonder how much of this was the Steelers offense playing great and how much was the Bucs playing like crap.

Careful. You'll get Zag excited again.

Vick tore up two very bad defenses. He has looked like a superstar for a game or two before. Kolb had a couple of huge games last year, too, didn't he? I wonder if Zag was slobbering all over him at the time, too. Let's see Vick show some consistency.

No way the Eagles and Chiefs can be this good. Right?

No way the Chargers, Cardinals, and Giants can be this bad. Right?

I would like to think it's the Steelers playing great, given how they're doing it with third- and fourth-string quarterbacks, with Mendenhall averaging at least 5.5 yards per carry in two of those games and with the offensive line consistently providing time to pass.

To be fair, Vick's been consistently good for all 10 quarters he's played now.

If Vick can be consistent, then yes, the Eagles are this good. He certainly has more talent around him than he has ever had before. Let's see them play a full game with him at quarterback against a good opponent.

I love the Chiefs' running game with Jones and Charles, but Cassel has never impressed me. Is that defense really that good?

Very few QBs in the history of the game have put together such extended streaks of greatness.

The Giants are a horrible team. Coughlin's out of a job after this season.

Oz, I hope you are right about the Steelers. It certainly helped to have Starks back at left tackle. They have to keep him healthy. Scott and Hills just killed the offense last week.

Regarding Vick, no question he has been fantastic so far. But he has done this before. Every previous time he looked like he had put it together and is ready to be a superstar, he went right back to looking like crap again.

Maybe this is different. Maybe he finally has the right coach and the right system around him. Maybe everything he lost finally due to his horrible off-field behavior forced him to get his head right. Let's just see him prove it first. Two great games against shit defenses do not constitute proof.

The fall off between Kurt Warner and Derek Anderson is very steep. In an offense that's predicated on having a quarterback get the ball to receivers who can make plays, the fact you have Derek Anderson back there chucking it up is simply a misunderstanding of what you do to win games. Someone didn't do their homework before the season started. Anderson is a typical Raider-esque quarterback in that he has a good arm and no ability to consistency get the ball where it needs to. He's basically Jeff George-lite, without the off-field drama.
