Gruden, it was on the Packers first drive in the red zone.

It's pretty fucking easy to narrow down the list of possible NFC representatives in the Super Bowl.

Dallas: 0-2 start said all we need to know about their ability to handle expectations.
    Washington: Ha. Right.
    NY Giants: Gonna go 4-12.
    Minnesota: Done.
    Detroit: Ha.
    Chicago: Worst 3-0 team ever.
Green Bay: If my nephew played football, I would not trust McCarthy to coach his team.
Tampa Bay: Worst 2-1 team ever.
    Carolina: Gonna go 0-16.
St. Louis: Might win the division at 6-10.
Arizona: Derek Anderson is still the starting QB.
    San Fran: Turrible.
Seattle: Might win the division at 5-11.

We're three weeks into the season, and if the Saints, Falcons or Eagles don't make the Super Bowl, I'll be floored. And it won't be the Eagles b/c Vick will become an idiot in January, if not sooner. (HI ZAGOSHE!!!)

Vick will be the greatest American comeback story since Richard Nixon in 1968.

How'd that work out for you, America?

How can you tell? A very big chunk of the starting lineup is still made up of guys that came in while Cowher was there.

I know it is not the Packer Way but McCarthy should be extremely thin ice for that challenge last night.

    I'm sorry if sounds harsh.

The Packers team has a window of this year and next year to win it all before the stud receivers/TE Finley will get too expensive.

Remember how outraged we all were in 2003 when the Pistons fired Rick Carlisle after a 55-win season (or whatever it was)? They hired Larry Brown and won the title the next year. They upgraded that position.

Look at the recent Super Bowl winning coaches:
    Peyton
    Tomlin
    Coughlin
    Dungy
    Cowher
    Belichick
    Belichick
    Gruden
    Belichick
    Billick
    Vermeil
    Shanahan
    Shanahan
    Holmgren

Anyone see McCarthy belonging on this list? I don't. He's far closer to Mike Tice than Mike Shanahan.

You're right. The Packers should do whatever it takes to lure Shanahan ASAP, before he leads the Redskins to a Super Bowl this season.

Or Holmgren, before he leads the Browns to a Super Bowl this season.

Or Coughlin, before he leads the Giants to the Super Bowl this season.

Anybody notice that since Ryan Grant got hurt the Packers can't run at all.

    In three drafts...
    Hood - X
    Wallace - X
    Johnson
    Mendenhall - X
    Mundy
    Dixon
    Gay
    Stephenson
    Sepulveda - X
    Spaeth - X
    Woodley - X
    Timmons - X
    Pouncey - X

That's seven starters (maybe six) in four drafts and we are not even counting the 2010 (who almost all made the roster) kids outside of Pouncey who seems to be great.

I'm not downgrading Tomlin at all. Just saying he still hasn't built an entire team yet. Cowher did it more than once.

Those are six very good starters you listed, though counting a punter is a bit much. Spaeth is a decent reserve. Hood really hasn't done that much yet, though the potential is there.

But Cowher's fingerprints are still all over a good bit of this team.
