The only thing worse than bad announcing is writing about bad announcing.

For me I tuned in not realizing it was going to be Berman on play by play. not a surprise I enjoyed.

Why do you assume I knew Berman was doing the game going in? If I knew, I forgot all about it.

And it doesn't change the fact that I want to watch a NFL game without his dumb ass calling it.

Don't know if this has been covered yet, but the Nike uniform's two-toned collars ar horrible looking. Haven't seen one yet that works.

It doesn't help anyone that this game is fairly horrid. We've had one touchdown. A million field goals. A million runs for loss. About three completed passes of longer than 12 yards. Even the Raiders inability to snap the ball to the punter has gone from sad to funny and back to sad.

    I love watching football.

I don't love watching football enough to tolerate Chris Berman.

So I'm not watching. That's the best way to combat ESPN using him as a play-by-play guy.

I think it's why some people root for the Cubs. Maybe this time, he won't suck as much.

Which answers the question. How many people actually choose whether to watch a game or not based on the announcing crew? I'm guessing that number is very low. People turned on that game either out of an interest in one of the two teams or perhaps fantasy players they have in the game. Maybe they just want to watch as much football as possible. The downside here is having to put up with Berman to watch it.

That's what the mute button, and the iPod, are for.

I would assume most are like me. They have to have the sound of the game, the crowd ... etc. to really be into the game.

I'm going BACK BACK BACK to radio. It is that bad.

I don't care who's announcing. It's still the same game.
