Maybe one day they'll get good at it.

Allen Iverson would hate being a lawyer.

Not equating Cosell with Berman on journalistic contributions. Not. At. All.

I am just saying that, in 2012, when Berman shows up for a game somewhere, I cannot think of another sports anchor/sportscaster who gets the same reaction as he does. Just like Cosell did when he showed up for MNF.

Personally, the one sportscaster I would love to catch with for 10 minutes is one Al Michaels.

Berman's status and reaction he gets is more because he's been at ESPN forever and 5 days. It's been a long time since I can say I've really liked his in-game work. I can get through Primetime, but it can be tough.

I don't know what you mean. Berman covers three or four live events a year.

And that's the consensus. Berman is a rock group that hit a peak in 1985 or 1986 and now just "plays the hits", except that, instead of playing the Timbuktu County Fair with Cheap Trick and Loverboy, Berman is able to still squeeze out a U2-level payday from Bristol.

I don't think anyone equated the two on journalistic contributions. My comparison was based on personalities. Let's face it, their personalities had much to do with their fame.

I'm not a fan but if he can, good for him.

Berman was being courted by NFL Network at one time, so he must like the loose leash he very apparently gets in Bristol.
If the tirades, sexual comments and remarks about illegal prescription drugs on YouTube didn't sink him - then he is unsinkable.

Fans scream their asses off when the cheerleader with the T shirt cannon walks by.

Funny thing about BOTNS is that it featured three teams -- and it wasn't that terribly long ago. Today, you could field a tourney of 64 and still have dozens of networks left over for the BOTNSNIT.
