Missing the pregame meetings with players and coaches has to hurt Brady. It's an announcer crutch "when we talked to coach this week he said blah blah blah" but still fairly significant info-gathering time that will be more important the longer Brady is removed from playing (if you really think he's going to fulfill the 10-year contract). No one in the broadcasting fraternity is likely to call it out but they gotta know he's a little screwed without those meetings.

Bo Nix threw 42 passes for 138 yards, less than 3.5 yards per attempt. That's not going to win any games.

but he could have a 300 yard day with just 91 attempts

No. No it's not. Sean Payton did not have a good game.

That is all fair. Fields has a great arm and he is a dynamic runner. He's going to hit some deep throws to Pickens, but once things get complicated, they don't seen to trust him.

They also need a receiver opposite Pickens. No other wide receiver caught more than one pass. There is a reason they tried to trade for Aiyuk. They knew that was a problem.

Denver, Atlanta, Arizona probably; anywhere you had a 10 mph tailwind.

Gibbs once had Mosley try a 75 yard FG. He was short.

I bought Stenerud's instruction book and tee in college, still have it. In the booklet he was pictured wearing gigantic shoulder pads. Which recalls a story from the longest-ever Miami-KC playoff game. Late, Stram asked Stenerud if he could make a 53-yarder.

Said Stenerud, "There's no vay, Coach."

Supposedly one of the concerns about him was, at Oregon he didn't really throw the ball down the field that often, his game was far more horizontal than vertical, easy throws, and thus his very high completion percentage. There was some crazy stat where Daniels had more TD throws where the ball actually traveled 30 yards in the air than Nix had total completions where the ball traveled 30 yards in the air.

Who knows what will happen. Many were surprised when he was drafted that early. I hope he does well, I like the Broncos and he seems like a quality person. But it's very, very hard to succeed in the NFL if you can't throw the football down the field.

The ceiling is probably Chad Pennington. If you need a touchdown with four minutes or less, you'll need missed tackles on multiple plays to gain appreciable yardage.

I think he was a panic pick by the Broncos, especially since the 2025 quarterback class is perceived as weak.
