    This is the most irrelevant post ever, but it is striking to me how many more popular (I haven't heard of this woman, but I assume she's a star) singers are able to sing the National Anthem without a problem than were able to do so like 50 years ago. All time worst or maybe best I saw was at the 1978 NLCS when James Earl Jones completely surrendered and didn't try, instead he recited the Anthem.

    Is it just me or does it seem that every player is now wearing shoulder pads made for kickers? I understand the mobility issues, but do they provide as much protection?

    I've noticed that too. There are some players that I wonder if they're even wearing shoulder pads. Has there been some revolutionary new model introduced that offers just as much protection with a smaller, lighter rig?
