Steelers finally do something right. Suisham hits a career-long 53-yard field goal as time runs out in the first half to cut the Jets lead to 17-3 at the half.

Mike Tomlin's halftime quote: "We've got to stop kicking our own butts."

Perhaps reports of the 49ers' demise were a bit early? Drew Brees picked off at the goal line to preserve a 21-10 San Francisco lead late in the first half.

Wow. Just a terrible interception by Roethlisberger just when Pittsburgh seemed to have its act together. All kinds of time to throw and puts it right in the safety's chest trying to force a ball down the field to end what looked like a pretty good drive.

Pittsburgh's big guns failing big time. Roethlisberger turning in a complete stinker and Brown has two fumbles.

That makes four turnovers against a Jets defense that had only three all season.

NOW the Jets lead the Steelers, 20-3, thanks to a dropped interception by William Gay. Every single thing the Steelers did right the last three weeks, including making offenses pay for mistakes, they are doing wrong today. That was an easy one that Gay dropped.

Edit: Red zone problems are back, too. Pittsburgh has zero points in two red zone trips thanks to an interception and a missed 23-yard field goal by Suisham on the first play of the fourth quarter.

So much for Tomlin's idea. The Steelers are determined to kick their own butts.

Kicking game hurts Detroit again. This time it is a blocked field goal returned to the three yard line to set up a go-ahead touchdown pass for the Dolphins.

Perfectly fitting way for this to go. Steelers waste another shot in the red zone, settling for a field goal after first-and-goal at the Jets' one, to get within 14.

Somehow, the Jets were not ready for an on-sides kick and Heyward-Bey recovers for the Steelers, but he is called offsides (good call, but just barely).

I wrote before the game that this one was important for the Pittsburgh coaching staff and I stand by that. This exact type of game has happened far too many times in recent seasons. Inexcusable mistakes all over the field in a loss to a terrible team. At some point, it happens so often that you have to ask why.

This one is costly. It will drop Pittsburgh from sole possession of first place to a tie with the Ravens for last. (To be fair, last place is 6-4.)

Why Brent Grimes, at 5-8, can dunk with two hands.

I am not convinced the Steelers are better than the Jets.
    Glad they lost.

Yeah, that last bit just proves how obsessed you are with me.

The first part just shows how little you know about football.

Speaking of how bad the Jets are, how do you allow an 80-yard touchdown pass in that situation? Just awful. They are going to get away with it, but the Jets stink.

Some fan in Buffalo is a genius. The guy dressed up as a damn convincing Andy Reid, complete with a barbecue joint menu instead of a play call sheet.

Good teams don't lose to a Lovie Smith-coached team at home.
The Jets have lost a bunch of close games.
Of middling talent, like the Steelers. They have just been far less lucky.
And I've never been impressed with your football knowledge, either.
So that makes us both happy.

Hell of a clutch throw by Stafford with 29 seconds left to give the Lions the lead over the Dolphins.
