That is a pretty optimistic view. First off, Tebow. Period. Also the Seahawks are not nearly the pushover everyone thinks they are, as the Giants and Ravens can attest. And the Chiefs? They're still playing for a playoff spot and thus highly motivated.

Gonna be hard to do better than 2-2 in that group of games. Raiders are playing well and not a good matchup for Hanie's debut. And packers at the end .... Hmmm.

10-6 will be real good. 8-8 is not inconceivable.

I'm going to wait and see how they actually look with Hanie. Cutler has been incredible this year, and a huge portion of the offense has been him just scrambling around and making ridiculous throws.

This is a little bit of popping off, but he's right that you can no longer determine what constitutes a f-ing penalty in the league.

“I don’t even know what football is right now,” Jackson said, according to the Associated Press. “I don’t know what hitting is, I don’t know what tackling is, and I’ve been in this league a long time. I can’t tell you what tackling or hitting or what’s a personal foul or what’s anything anymore.”

It is optimistic. None of those teams are really pushovers, not even Minnesota really. But Chicago is a good team. I don't think they're going to roll over and die without Cutler.

    Fair enough. However, Tebow.

The Chiefs have Tyler Palko at QB, who is so awful only Dave Wannstadt ever thought he was any good. Bears would win that one with me under center. Or even YGBFKM. :D

Maybe some of his performance vs. the Packers in the NFC title game last year was fueled by adrenaline/the Packers not knowing what to expect/anyone looking good in comparison to Todd Collins, but I really liked what I saw from Hanie in January. I'm curious, in a good way, to see what he can do with a few weeks at the helm.

Hey, Palko was actually pretty good at Pitt. He just doesn't have the physical tools to bring that to the NFL level.

Then why is he on an NFL roster?

I said he didn't have the physical tools to match his success in college, not that he couldn't at least be a decent clipboard holder. There are probably worse quarterbacks with an NFL job, but not many.

Anyone who thinks they can be a linebacker should book a trip to Charlotte. The Panthers need a few.

I think a big reason Hanie mania was momentarily stoked shortly after that game was because of the direct comparison to how bad Collins was. Hanie still threw two interceptions, one that was returned for six, another with about 30 seconds left that sealed the win for the Packers.

I do like Hanie, I think he is a complete wild card though. He at least should be familiar with the offence and most of the receivers after being there for four years. Still a big difference between practice and game action. I think 3-3 over the next 6 weeks is a best case scenario. They'll lose to the Packers and the Raiders (especially if McFadden returns) and then they'll likely drop one of the others that they are supposed to win.

The one equalizer for the Bears is their defence, which is still very good -- hell if they can drag Grossman to the Super Bowl, they should be able to beat the Chiefs. However, life just got a whole lot worse for Forte. Who needs to be paid badly.

They better sign a vet (who's available?) though to back him up because after Hanie they just have Enderle, drafted this past year out of Idaho. I think they it could get really ugly.

Imagine if Carson Palmer was still out there now.

As good of a player DeSean Jackson is - he's not THAT good that he can hurt his team the way he does. I figure the Eagles will deal him in the off-season. I just don't get the sense that there is an "enforcer" on the team whom the other players respect, like a Singletary, Uhrlacher or Ray Lewis.
