OoP, Haley's gameplan did him no favors. This idiot runs an offense like he still has Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin running patterns for Kurt Warner. No wonder they feel let down by Cassel.

I don't see the problem with #8. Robert Griffin at Baylor looks like a beast. Griffin and Co. racked up 550-something yards of total offense against OU.

I personally don't see the Tebow hype.

Nope. No need to name call, but he was carried to the title, and was a far better player when e was losing SBs than winning them, which is why I think that the arguments that he is better than say Marino or Manning because of the 2 rings is silly.

Not sure where you see me name calling. It's revisionist history, Elway was not carried to those 2 titles. You make him sound like he was Trent Dilfer in those 2 years.

All I'm going to say, is this:

Compare full-body shots of JE during his younger days with the Broncs to pics of him there, in his final years.

    Try not to laugh.

    It's so obvious.

The Duke was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIII, so the talk that he was carried to those titles is bullshit. And he got to three other Super Bowls with inferior teams -- plus, they lost to some REALLY good teams.

Wasn't saying you were name-calling, just that I wasn't signing on for the who sentiment expressed in by #4. That said, he wasn't Trent Dilfer, but he certainly wasn't John Elway. That is not revisionist history. Davis was the weapon on those teams, Elway made a few throws at key points. There are many QBs who could have done what he did those years, but almost none who could have carried the SB loser teams through the playoffs. That was what made him great, the rings are Ray Bourgue without having to change teams.

Elway had MUCH more athletic ability at the end . . . he also finally had some help with the running game, and was blessed with defensive pals who could actually stop the run. Those were good teams. Their blocking techniques were and remain reprehensible, but they were effective.

The QB of the winning team always has the inside track on the MVP, and he might have been the best layer on the field that day. Still, he was carried to those titles.
