Steelers were and are the better team. Made three insane defensive plays. They'll secure the division title, the value of which is somewhat diminished by the seven-team-per-conference playoff format. But I wouldn't want to play them in January.

I managed to catch a case of food poisoning last night -- 10/10 would not recommend, my Seinfeld-esque streak of not puking is kaput after like 13 years -- so I've barely left the couch today. I hadn't listened to a Brady for a minute because I usually go out to watch with friends. He seems to have improved some? I didn't find him particularly offensive during Bears-Pack. Also, fortunate day to get two pretty good games on broadcast.

They failed in short yardage all game before that, so it was far from a sure thing to get the yard there. If the Ravens had gotten the ball back and scored, Fields definitely would have been the goat. He had an easy path to the first down, but slid too early. That was just a stupid play by him when he had the opportunity to put the victory away.

Meh. A streak of 13 years is nothing. Ted Moseby claimed he was "vomit-free since '93" in How I Met Your Mother. Of course, given that Ted was an asshole, that turned out to be a lie. In my case it is true. My last time was on my 21st birthday. That is 31 years and counting. (Yes, I am knocking on wood as I type this.)

Joking aside, sorry you had to go through that. Food poisoning is just miserable. Sorry you had to listen to Brady, too. I'm sure he will get to the point of being decent because he knows football too well and he is too intelligent to not figure it out, but I just don't want to listen to that jackass.

I don't think there is much of a gap between the two teams, but the Steelers were the more disciplined team. That was the difference. They certainly look dangerous, but they are going to have to be better to do some real damage in the playoffs.

I thought the same. Nice little play by Fields.

This is the second game in a row where the Seahawks had third and 1 (or less) late in the game, ran the ball twice and were stopped short each time.

    Season over.

Wow. What a pair of stops by the 49ers defense.

Spotting the ball must be the hardest thing for refs to do. They are awful about it and it looks like they don’t take it seriously.

I said to myself on fourth down "play action pass," but glad they don't listen to me.

Yes, it sure looked like Smith had a first down on the third down QB sneak. The fourth down run was clearly short.

I honestly mean just in general. McDonald should have challenged.
