Arizona doesn't believe they are better with Stanton than Palmer.

Yeah ... in 2001 we'd be having this dialogue about Brady and Bledsoe. On these standards, Brady really sucked for a lot of that season.

ETA: OK, not "really sucked." But definitely questions.

Gray's 4 rushing TDs set a NE franchise record. I found that a bit surprising - figured it would tie a record, but no, Gray sets a new NE record. How old is the franchise? I know there were lots of crappy years before the last 15 came along.

    Original AFL team (1960).

To be fair, hindsight makes Brady seem a lot better than he really was in 2001. He played well that year, but he certainly wasn't great. The one time I can think of that Bledsoe got back into a game for significant playing time was the AFC Championship when Brady got hurt, and it was Bledsoe who led the team to its only offensive touchdown that day. (The Pats scored twice on special teams).

Brady's passing stats for Super Bowl XXXVI were the worst or among the worst for a winning quarterback in Super Bowl history. He was good that year, but the thing is, he kept getting better as the years went on.

Wasn't he just called up from the practice squad, too?

I don't think he was on the main roster until Ridley got hurt.

That's right. And in the usual Patriot manner, he was gradually inserted into the positional rotation, doing a little bit more each game before last night.

I would have figured that Jim Nance had scored 4 TD's along the way in old AFL.
    Or "Harpo" Gladieux

Right. But I think they believe they can win with him.

Even if Arizona somehow got the No. 1 seed in the NFC, I don't think anyone would put them as the SB favorite.

The NFC South is insanely bad. It's kind of crazy to think that the Bucs are closer to first place than the Seahawks and 49ers are.

RGIII: Don't look at me, look at the 10 guys around me.

"If you want to look at the good teams in this league and the great quarterbacks, the Peytons (Manning) and the Aaron Rodgers, those guys don't play well if their guys don't play well," Griffin said.
