So the Steelers haven't made the playoffs in any year they've lost to the Browns since 1999.

THAT is why you get the ball into the hands of Ray Rice. Few players in the league are taking a short pass and turning it into a first down on 4th-and-28. Now take him out of the game, Cam!

    Good lord.
Ravens facing fourth-and-29 with two minutes left. Nothing open downfield, so Flacco checks down to Ray Rice ... who proceeds to run through nothing but open turf for 30 yards.
THAT'S why you're not a serious contender, Chargers.

Curious how the refs are going to re-measure when the chains were already moved?

Which should tell you a lot about Dixon.

Batch was bad, but the regulars around him blew today's game. Six fumbles by the running backs, four of which were lost. Wallace has one ball go off his hands for an interception and makes no real effort at all on that deep ball by Batch that was intercepted.

The Steelers have found ways to lose to inferior opponents three times this season. The Browns just tried harder than the Raiders and Titans had to give it back to them.

Just saw the replay ... Larry, Curley and Moe could have done a better job.

His defense? Outing alert: 93Devil is Dick LeBeau?

The defense did play well. Not great. Great would have been avoiding the breakdowns on the Browns' two touchdown plays. Allen got out of position on Weeden's pass and Timmons and Clark both overran the play on Richardson's touchdown. Of course, that is nitpicking, especially considering how well Timmons and Clark played today.

The defense is getting better. It's not a great unit, but it could be enough for Pittsburgh to be dangerous in the playoffs if the Steelers can somehow manage to get there and get somewhat healthy.

That last part is a real question. Roethlisberger and Polamalu may play next week, but neither is a sure thing. They were down to their third string right tackle by the end of today's game and LaMarr Woodley got hurt again. I haven't heard how bad Colon's injury is yet, either. His knee swelled up before the game today, so he had to sit out, and they clearly missed him in the running game.

That's what you get with an aging roster, but Pittsburgh would be heading to the playoffs anyway if it hadn't been for so many sloppy efforts early on. If they don't make it, the Steelers can only blame themselves.

The Saints' o-line is a sieve today.

Not that unusual against the 49ers, is it?

One thing for sure ... I don't think we'll see Smith in the lineup for a while.

We're getting close to tie territory in San Diego ... Ravens start possession at their 10 with five minutes left.
