The Cowboys are going to demolish the Giants next week.

But Grossman has a better defense than Aikman had his first few years. The difference in the game today were his mistakes. He's got to stop trying to throw long TD passes 10 times a game. I know it's a cliche, but he really does need to learn to take what the defense gives him because the Bears don't need to score 30 points to win. He needs to be patient. He'll light up bad teams, but he's trying to do too much against good teams that aren't going to allow the Bears to put the game away in the first half. He's got Favre's I-can-make-any-throw-at-any-time mentality, but he doesn't have the arm strength or talent at receiver to pull that off.

He's got to understand that if he limits his mistakes, the Bears are almost impossible to beat.

    In his defe
Good points. In his defense, Smith in the presser said he made too many bad calls, so Rexxy was probably just following orders.

Sorry, Bears fans, Grossman sucks. He did not beat the Giants, defense and special teams did.
He was horrendous against the Jets

He was not horrendous against the Jets. If he played the same game today, the Bears win.

He did suck today, though, and I fear that he may never be good enough to win games against top-tier teams.

We'll find out in the playoffs.

He wasn't good against the Jets. He completed one pass of consequence, Bradley's 57-yard touchdown catch and run. The rest of the game, he was barely mediocre.

  8. Raiders got absolutely hosed. Worst official's ruling since the Tuck Rule. I have no attachment to either team, but the ruling angers me to no end. The league better be kissing the corns on Art Shell's feet after that one.

First half against the Jets: net passing yardage = (-1)

He threw a short pass that Bradley broke for a 57-yard TD... otherwise he was atrocious.

Barely mediocre is good enough most of the time if he's limiting misakes, which he did against the Jets. He also threw three TDs in the Giants game won by special teams.

Look, no one on this site (save for maybe Doc) hurled as many expletives Grossman's way today. He played like shit, which he's done all too often the last six weeks. But the Bears can't give up on him because he, more than any other player, is the key to whether the Bears finally take the next step or once again lose a home playoff game to end their season.
