One more post for the young or baseball - uninterested among us: SC's invocation of Brook Jacoby, I assume, refers to both (1) his incredibly poor eye as a hitter and (2) his almost unparalleled ability to hit insignificant home runs. Take this stat line for example:

32 HR / 69 RBI

which screams out "I hit tons of (pointless) solo home runs!"

For the younger crowd, think A - Rod at his worst. You know, an upper - deck shot in the 7th when the Yanks are already ahead 9 - 1. That's Brooks Jacoby.

For SC to use that analogy on me, that was really, really good. I'm not saying I agree with it, but it was beyond apt given the last two days and what people have said to me in replies.
