Of course, they're pissing away Sauce Gardner's rookie contract years, so there you go.

Woody is just dumb enough to bring back Rex and make him the de facto GM (because no GM would hire Rex on his own). By God yes, please, do that.

As soon as I saw Rex shamelessly campaigning for the job, I felt exactly the same way. I hope it happens. The disaster would be epic and enjoyable.

Woody is the dumbest fuck owner in New York sports history. James Dolan cannot believe his good fortune.

For all of the advantages they should have as big market franchises, New York's modern sports history outside of the Yankees is stunningly underwhelming.

The Rangers used to hear derisive chants of "1940" before they finally won the cup. Well, "1994" is quietly creeping up into that territory.
The Islanders haven't done anything since Wayne Gretzky took over the NHL.
The Knicks' most memorable postseason moment since Willis Reed came out of the tunnel was getting bumped for O.J. coverage.
The Giants have had their moments, but have been feast or famine for most of their history. The Parcells years erased the stink of a lot of bad seasons that came before and after. Even their two most recent Super Bowls were Cinderella runs nobody saw coming.
The '86 Mets are certainly iconic, but a cocaine high only lasts so long. They've devolved into a perennial punchline since then.
    The Jets are the Jets.
The Devils are in New Jersey. They don't count.

The Liberty work just has hard and deserve coverage. And why are you depriving the Nets players of scholarships?

Among the most depressing thing about the Jets is the hiring Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh were both considered to be A-Plus moves.

Despite the team names, the Jets and Giants are in New Jersey, too. Then again, the advantage of being in a larger market in the NFL is minimal, certainly nothing like what it is in baseball with revenue sharing and a hard salary cap. The gap from the team with the highest payroll to the lowest is much smaller. If I remember correctly, the Giants were near the bottom one of the years they won the Super Bowl with Manning. I think it was the second one.

The Giants have been bad more than good, but you can't take away those two Super Bowls. The Jets are a joke, a horrible franchise that has done very little but break the hearts of their fans since 1969.

No argument with any of the rest of it, though the Knicks were kind of fun to watch last season.

The Jets and Giants play in New Jersey, but they've also played in New York proper and are very much New York teams.
The Devils and Nets exist in some parallel universe in the Meadowlands. They're near New York, but not really New York teams.

Nets play in Brooklyn, which has been part of New York City since 1898.
