I had never heard of Duncan before and don't care to hear from her again. Her comments were obnoxious. Screamin' A's response was even worse. That wasn't about the organization. It was about Duncan being an asshole to Jones.

 

Looks like the four-year Jones deal was in reality a two-year deal. Not unusual with NFL contracts, as we all know. It appears the Giants owe him no more cash but have a dead cap hit.

Giants would have been on the hook if Jones got hurt and couldn't play in 2025. The move seems like a no-brainer with all that info.

From Tom Pelissero, before Jones was released:

"Some cap math ... Daniel Jones was due $30.5 million in 2025 with a $41.605M cap number. But the #Giants owe him no more cash beyond this season if they release (or trade) him before March 16, when $12M of his $23M injury guarantee would convert to a full guarantee. If they trade him, or cut him without a post-June 1 designation, they'd carry a $22.21 million dead cap hit in 2025. Savings on 2025 cap: $19.395M. If they cut him with a post-June 1 designation, they'd carry a $11.105M dead cap hit in 2025 and 2026. Savings on 2025 cap: $30.5M."

Jeez, I've gone thru a decade plus of LA Angels players just absolutely stealing money for no production..Vernon Wells, Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols and Anthony Rendon are just the start. And I never heard a peep of a backlash as Daniel Jones is getting. The guy was out there giving it his all. He just wasn't good enough.

I've actually been a fan of Elle Duncan on Sportscenter and women's college basketball. That shit she pulled was bad.

The really funny thing is they are a 1% franchise in the best of ways. Second-most wins in the NFL in the Super Bowl era behind only the Cowboys, but the Steelers aren't run by a complete moron who is thankfully too rich to run for president. If Tomlin quit tomorrow, there'd probably be 28 teams that would consider making a run at him. The Steelers are always good in a league in which it's supposed to be impossible to always be good without a GOAT QB, which they haven't had since Rapey McRapistburger was freshly removed from dodging felonies for the second time. I know fandom is a little nutty (everywhere not just here) but man if there's ever a team for whom fans should be like "ehh, shit happens" a few times a year, it's the Steelers.

The Giants demoted and then cut their starting QB and announced they are starting their bargain-basement third stringer so they can tank this season as hard as humanly possible...

And their VP wants me to be mad at Elle Duncan for disrespecting the guy they were about to cut so they could suck harder?
