Rams had a nice one-year run, but with no first-round draft picks for, IIRC, the next five years -- plus awful contracts to Goff and Gurley -- they're pretty much screwed for the next few years. They went all in and they didn't land it.

    Pleased with his new contract.

Lamar Jackson is a better *passer* than Jared Goff. Let alone every other area of quarterbacking, Jackson is a 10, and Goff is a 1.

Jermaine Jackson is a better passer than Jared Goff.
Someone will need to explain to me why they think Goff is worth 110 million dollars guaranteed.

And the Rams are gonna regret this contract decision:

I said it right after the Super Bowl. Jared Goff was going to have a hard time recovering from that game. The kid can't take a shit without McVay whispering instructions in his ear. He can't read a defense. He folds under pressure. Mentally he's an infant out there.

It wasn't some Belichick magic potion that made Goff look bad, it was a lot of smoke and mirrors from McVay and a great season from Gurley that made him look good.

I don't understand how the Rams failed to see it. They were set up for a pretty good run, but they have made a big mess of things with two terrible contracts.

Paying for a running back and overpaying for a QB are colossal mistakes that 25 years into the salary cap era shouldn't be an issue. but teams do it. QB pay has been ridiculous for years. Joe Flacco is laughing at the debate about whether he was elite.

The Rams also trade away first round draft picks like a men's HIV clinic hands out condoms.

Let's also understand that they had a stadium to build and tickets to sell. They had to put a winning team on the field and have a "future" before the new place opened.

Also - how many teams went ALL IN on anyone with any connection to McVay. I don't know if the Rams win the division in the next five years.
