Williams has some blame, you’d think your QB would look at the clock and know the situation. BUT, he’s processing the players lining up, the play they’re trying to call, etc,

Eberflus?? All he has to do is stand on the sideline and run down official and call TO!! That’s all he has to do!!! And he froze, plain and simple.

The weird thing was the Bears didn't seem to be panicked or out of sorts. It wasn't like there was confusion over the play call, or a shift, or a mangled substitution, or something that you'd expect to lead to that debacle. They just were in no hurry at all, like they thought they had 1:30 left instead of 0:30.

Jerry gonna mess around and finish with a middle-first pick.

That schedule is pretty light down the stretch. Can easily see them going 9-8, missing the playoffs by a game and Jerrah deluding himself into running it back--McCarthy included--because he thinks this proves they're still a Super Bowl-caliber team with Dak. Yes please do that!

If they go 9-8 with Cooper Rush at QB, McCarthy is definitely back. I doubt Rush will be, though — he'll be a QB1 elsewhere.

Eberflus is just trying to get fired after this, right? This is one of those quotes that lives in infamy in a city like Chicago.

Bears coach Matt Eberflus on disastrous final sequence in loss to Lions: 'I like what we did there'

And then he doubles down on it after the game and says “I thought we handled it the right way.”
The football Gods shake their heads in disbelief.
