Meanwhile, the Chargers lose 45-zilch and it makes nary a blip in SoCal much less anywhere else. What a mess.

The margin of defeat was the largest in franchise history and came on a day when the opposing team’s starting quarterback passed for only 69 yards.

Chargers suffer biggest defeat in franchise history in 45-0 loss to Patriots

I thought that maybe they were letting the plane land before firing Lynn. Then again, the same ownership thought moving from San Diego to L.A. was a good idea, so fuck, maybe they'll bring him back again at this point.

In case you didn't notice, and that wouldn't surprise me coming from you, I actually ended up agreeing with the Ravens on that point. There were a lot of injuries in the game this past Wednesday, especially on Baltimore's team. I really do think there is some risk in throwing Jackson back out there with no practice time. Of course, there is a good deal of risk to their season in trusting the game to McSorley.

Now if you want to go back into the other thing, the scheduling issues put the Steelers at a significant disadvantage for this evening's game. Washington had a much longer break while Pittsburgh was scrambling to be ready on short rest. Pittsburgh is going to be without at least two players who might have been able to play on normal rest, including their kicker. Given the team's struggles in the red zone of late, that could be a big factor in the game tonight.

Because the games are on the schedule.
Because I was under the mistaken notion that players want to play.
Because I was under the mistaken notion that they'd want that one more experience with guys they have sweated with for years?
    Silly me.

Yes, silly you. Unless they have a shot at a national championship why put your body in danger if you are going to be a high pick?

Again, silly me. I thought fans wanted their teams to win.
And that whole idea of franchise quarterbacks: Cincinnati (Joe Burrow), LA Chargers (Justin Herbert) and Miami (Tua) are a combined 13-22-1. It's not an instant fix.

Your body is in danger if you get behind the wheel of a car, play pickup basketball, lift weights or dance at a party. Eric Kendrick hurt his knee doing an agility drill before the game on Sunday. Opting out of bowl games to protect yourself from injury is one more example that we're turning into a nation of pussies.

Eh, I think it's a little more nuanced than that. The "deal" with college football is that players basically get to audition for professional football, and in return, they kind of shut up about being paid. There is some lip service paid about getting an education out of it, which is nice, although your full-time job for that "free" education is football. When coaches and administrators weren't making millions of dollars, it was probably easier for them to motivate team members to play for one another.

Awe look at big tough Hondo. It means kids not getting paid should not put their body at more risk than necessary. Smart business.

Who said instant? Which of those teams did you expect to contend?
