He definitely made contact to the head. The fact that he was trying to pull off is irrelevant, at least according to the rules. The problem is that the rules are not enforced consistently.

For all the concern from the NFL offices about player safety, Roethlisberger got hurt when kneeling on the ground, the whistle blown and two Bills not peeling off, twisting his body and trying to drive him to the ground for no real reason. No flag, and I'm guessing no forthcoming fine -- unless they want to tack that on to Harrison's tab.

Maybe it's the Eagles fanboi coming out of me, but I honestly didn't see the contact. Looked like his arms came down on either side of his head and maybe caught the shoulder pads, but didn't hit Schaub's helmet. Like I said, it was a good no-call.

It's just Matt Schaub. Who cares?

man have you turned into the bisggest Steeler whiner on here. Poor, Poor Pittsburgh the league and the refs are against them. Imagine what you guys would have been like if the reverse had happened in the Seahawk Super Bowl game.

Never said the refs were against Pittsburgh. Merely said for a league concerned to a fault about player safety, they sure didn't care about protecting the quarterback after one specific play where Roethlisberger wound up with a broken foot.

Actually, Roethlisberger was hurt the previous week and aggravated the injury on that play.

That said, JC, did you even see the play Oz is talking about? The refs blew that one. Two Bills continued to twist Roethlisberger after the whistle. It should have been a penalty. But it isn't the type of personal foul the league is pushing them to enforce, which is one reason why it wasn't called.

I have not seen a poster here claim there is a conspiracy against the Steelers. I have seen posters, including myself, look for a more reasonable explanation of why they seem to be getting the shit end of things lately, including the well-earned reputation many of their players have for being dirty.

The only thing dumber than the suggestions made in the past that the league was trying to fix games in the Steelers' favor would be to suggest that the league is doing the opposite now.

Jim Leonhard out for the season with a broken leg. Not good for the Jets.

Sunday's New York Times says all four teams in the NFC West could end up with 6-10 records. This is what I'm rooting for. I want to hear the commissioner brag about the tremendous excitement this created in the final weeks of the season.

Favre knocked out of the Bills game. It could bea right collarbone, shoulder or a wrist.

Down goes Brett! Down goes Brett!
Vikings' first series, he got slammed into the turf on a hit from behind. It's either a wrist or shoulder injury on his right arm, and he's out of the game. Our long national nightmare might finally be close to an end.
