Five interceptions for Brees -- and looks like his touchdown passes streak is coming to an end.

    Or the Saints' throat.

On a related note, enough with the talk of the dangerous Saints making the playoffs. Let's move on.

Yep, as it turns out, Goodell did indeed punish them by taking a season away.

No doubt. But does anybody really believe the Falcons will win a playoff game? Their high-powered offense only got 23 against the shitty Saints at home.

So the Saints are out. And when the Redskins piss down their legs on Monday night, they're out. So then what? Chicago/Green Bay and....Seattle? Tampa?.....for the wildcard spots?

Could we see a 15-1 team be an underdog at home in the playoffs? Probably not, but if the Falcons host the Packers or the Giants, could easily see the line be 3 or less.

I would like to see Smith at the helm in Buffalo. Then again, Gailey will probably have Smith throw 50 times a game and give Spiller seven carries a game.

    It ain't happening.

I don't like the Falcons for a lot of reasons. All of those games decided late, that's luck. Given a big enough sample size, there's a very fine line between 10-1 and 6-5. Their offense stunk up the joint against the worst defense in the league for much of the third quarter until Brees bailed 'em out with that mindless pick, one of five.

I'm not that impressed with Atlanta's defense either. They held Brees & Co. in check for most of the night, but that was an offense with a revolving door at one of their tackle spots.

I think San Fran, Chicago, Green Bay and the Giants are the best in the NFC. I think like last year, the playoffs will expose the weaknesses of the Dirty Birds for all to see.

I think they might beat a decimated Packers team. I think the Giants would kill them though.

And I'd bet the house on either of them to beat ATL (Green Bay only if Clay Matthews is healthy).

The Saints sealed their own fate last night when they came away with zero points at the end of the first half. That was sheer, mind-numbing stupidity.
