Felt for a while that Roethlisberger has been overrated as a franchise QB. Sure, he's taken advantage of the situation he was put in with a good core around him. And, like about a dozen others, you can win with him if you have the right personnel and gameplan.

But what you CAN'T do is expect him to drop back 40-50 times, throw for 350 yards and make a living offensively out of the passing game. That's asking too much, as it is for most QBs.

You're missing my point. He played for the old Browns, who are now the Ravens. He did not play for the franchise that is currently playing in Cleveland.

The franchise currently in Cleveland kept all the records from the "old" Browns: Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Brian Sipe, Ozzie Newsome, etc. So Testaverde is on that list, too.

You obviously haven't seen this team for a while.

I know that is the official line. It's a joke and it always has been. I've written about this before. The NFL threw out precedent in these situations to pacify people in Cleveland.

Which still doesn't make the original post wrong, per se.

Fair point. I should have said that earlier. I just refuse to acknowledge the NFL's bullshit on that one.

Looks like the Falcons took the weekend off, not that it matters much.

Chargers with an offensive line beat to shit are putting together a hell of a drive to start the third quarter, mostly because the Steelers can't get a stop on third down.

Edit: Truly gutless performance by the Steelers today. Down 20-3 to the Chargers now at home. No more excuses. This team just doesn't show up enough and they deserve to be home come playoff time.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Dallas D has committed 3 personal fouls in the last 2 Bengals drives. Mark of a well-coached team.
