I think a lot of it is not whether to pay him, but HOW MUCH you should pay him before you reach a point where you're just like "Oh fuck this." Bisciotti made his billions with the essential philosophy that you shouldn't overpay for labor, that the structure of the operation should be more valuable that the parts. So that's what I think this is about. He knows he needs to play Flacco, but it kind of pisses him off that Flacco has considerable leverage, even though he's just a "good" quarterback, not a great one. I think he forced Harbaugh's hand a little. He wanted to take away Flacco's excuse blanket.

And shit, it might work. Cameron truly is a pretty meh coordinator.

Dez Bryant probably out for rest of year.

Firing Cameron this late in the season is bush league. I thought the Ravens were better than this.

Are they really going to be better by doing this?

Flacco... How many Steeler fans do you think are thankful that even when the Steelers shit the bed versus the Chargers, they still know Joe QBs the Ravens?

He's an average to good QB. Not great by any means.

If he was a girl, he would be average in every area (looks, personality, smarts, etc...) except for great, great tits. The tits are the arm he shows off a few times every game. But when she wrecks your car, loses the jewelry you bought her, breaks your computer, does not want to go out with your friends, you just keep thinking about those tits. But that's all they are are tits. You need to look past them. You need more than big tits to win the Super Bowl.

I am sorry to all female members of this board, but that's the best analogy I can come up with for Flacco.

Not sure that apology is going to smooth things over for you, but that analogy had me laughing. It also kinda makes sense.

Every time people start to think Flacco has put it together, he takes a step back. The last two games against the Steelers being prime examples. He was terrible. Hell, in the second game they lost their best corner on the first series of the game and he still couldn't get the job done.

Ouch. Terrible timing, too. I was not looking forward to seeing what he would do to a Pittsburgh secondary without Ike Taylor.

Yeah, now you get to see Miles Austin and a cast of nobodies!

And with your run defense, I'd be more worried about Murray than the passing game. Anyway, we'll find out Sunday for sure!

Dez Bryant's injury is perfect for everyone who loves to laugh at the Cowboys because it will allow them to explain away their 8-8 non-playoff finish, bring Jason Garrett and do the same shit all over again next year while hoping that somehow it will turn out differently. Excellent!

Oh, I'm not thinking it will be easy at all. Just easier than it would have been with Bryant to deal with as well.

So Niners suspend Brandon Jacobs for likely rest of year: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/football/nfl/12/10/brandon-jacobs-suspended.ap/index.html?sct=hp_t2_a8&eref=sihp

Not a big deal because he doesn't play but what is irksome is this guy has now been "disgruntled" with the NYG when they won last year and now the Niners; gee guess its the team's fault.

I thought he was likely the softest "big" back I've ever seen before he signed and now I'm glad he's gone. Jacobs perfected the tippy toed 1 yd gain off tackle.

Tirico is in Gruden's little chat-house talking to Brady.

Gruden interviewing for a job somewhere?

Joe Flacco is the Lovie Smith of quarterbacks.

Gruden as Ravens' new OC? Would be a way to transition back into the game.

As much as he has a great gig going, he's a coach at heart.
