"Let's see, what did I write down in my notes...."

    1. We are fucking terrible in man coverage. Holy shit, Tom Brady just impregnated our secondary and then dumped us like we were a C-list actress.

    2. Wow, we cannot block Vince Wilfork for shit. Not with one guy or three. Holy balls, that was a bad idea.

    3. We have no one on our team that can cover Wes Welker. Fucking fuck.

    4. Would have been nice if Donte Stallworth had, like, flashed his brights and honked his horn a few times before he murdered our secondary on that long touchdown.

    5. Again, why did I think it was a good idea to dare Brady to beat man coverage all night? Sigh.

They lose the division if they lose twice to the Colts.

Based on how they looked against the Patriots and in several other games (Jaguars comes to mind), they definitely could lose twice to the Colts.

The Colts winning that division would be great.

It depends on who is taking the notes. At least two of the Patriots' championship teams got a hell of a lot better by playoff time than they had been during the regular season. The first one was an example of that, as was 2004. I remember watching the Steeler soundly beat the Patriots in midseason in 2004, but when the teams met again for the AFC Championship, Pittsburgh never had a shot.

Of course, that is Coach Hoodie taking the notes, which makes a good bit of difference.

That said, the Texans have looked pretty damn shaky of late.

If the Colts win next weekend, I'd bet the house on the rematch being NBC's prime-time season ender in Week 17. That would be awesome.

Also, special thanks to Belichick and the Patriots for allowing the fantasy football season to proceed without bastardization. With the Pats beating the Texans, it looks like everybody except maybe Atlanta is going to have to go all-out through Week 16 at least.

Houston's defense was terrible long before Monday night.

  9. I think the most painful part was the fumble recovery TD.

It was like getting left at the bar by your 6 date (Woodhead breaking into the open field), then meeting up with an 8 who shows real interest and goes back to your place (the FF that bounces back for a hypothetical touchback)

It's all good, till (s)he whips out the dick (the FR for a touchdown).

The Colts would have to win out to win the division. Tall order.

Houston, like Atlanta the day before, just had a bad game. I'd be concerned with the body of work the last few weeks --- they were lucky to escape against Jacksonville and Detroit --- but they're still a legitimate contender.

I'd be a lot more worried if I was a Houston fan than if I was an Atlanta fan. It's easy for a really good team with a big lead in its division and its conference (2 1/2 games heading into the week, right?) to have a letdown and put up a stinker against a lesser team that's no threat -- sort of an overconfident/looking past them thing.

It's quite another thing when a contender simply fails to show up in what should be its biggest game of the season, a showdown against another top contender in the league's showcase game of the week. Losing isn't the issue -- it's how the Texans lost. They let it get away early and were never in it. I think that says a lot more than Atlanta losing to Carolina.

I won't be surprised if the Falcons go out and beat the Giants this week, or at least play a really good game. How Houston responds against the Colts after that mess on Monday will be very interesting.

I think Houston will be fine. They just lost to a very good, very hot team on the road.

They probably were a little lucky to be 11-2 instead of, say, 9-4. But they're not chopped liver. A notch below New England, but should be enough to win a weak division.
