Sure, why not. Jets at Broncos on wild card weekend?

You kind of proved my point with that statement. If the Texans had faced the Colts in September, they would have had the division locked up prior to this game. Probably prior to last week's fiasco.

Holy cow. Al Michaels just said they're going to shift the game to CNBC when Obama addresses the families at Sandy Hook.

Al Michaels just said NBC will cut away to President Obama's speech in Newtown, with the game continuing on NBCSN and CNBC. No problem with that at all.

Bad decision and a throw that wasn't good enough. Of course, they likely don't end up in that position if Brown doesn't cough up a killer fumble in the fourth quarter for the second time this season.

This is the second time in Mike Tomlin's tenure as head coach that he has had a team that finds ways to lose. I'm amazed that this team still has a shot at the playoffs, but I have no confidence at all that they will win the next two to get there. The Steelers have talent, but they are not a good team. Good teams don't consistently find ridiculous ways to lose like this one does.

I wonder about the gamesmanship of planning out a Week 17.

Example: Let's say the Patriots win tonight and, in two weeks, the Packers have the #2 seed locked in, win or lose, before they play the Vikings in Week 17.

If you're McCarthy, do you SIT your key players, allowing the Vikings to win if it means the playoffs will NOT include the Bears and Giants? I would, without question. This is the spoil of getting a bye. You do have some latitude to play God for whichever teams join you in the "tournament".

I also would cut Mason Crosby at this hour and tell the next punt returner that, with an 11 point lead in the fourth, to let the ball die.

The good news is that the Bengals are even better at finding ways to lose than the Steelers are.

If you're McCarthy you want the Bears in the playoffs though.

agreed. this is a HUGE story bigger than any freakin' game... giants sucked footballs today; too bad victor cruz didn't score a td to honor one of his biggest fans, one of the slain 6-year-ol boys used to wear a 'cruz' jersey on sundays. cruz and the giants learned of this and he spoke to the family by telephone before the game. since giants were crushed the story probably won't get the attention it deserves: http://www.nj.com/giants/index.ssf/2012/12/politi_1.html#incart_river

Not in the cold, whether Green Bay or Chicago.

Meanwhile on the West Coast, if there was any small inkling for the Chargers to keep Turner (and Smith) aboard, they disappeared today. I attended the game, and it was a pretty pathetic display.
