They were on the team, right?

You could take that entire squad and win 10 straight Grey Cups waiting for those younger player to mature. The post illustrates how much talent is on an Alabama sideline at any one time.

Perhaps Tebow would look like a better passer against CFL defenses, much like he looked like a better passer against college defenses.

Because, frankly, Henry Burris looked like a far worse passer than Tebow in his one NFL season:

NFL passing numbers don't get much scarier than that. Tebow's actually had some success in the NFL, Burris was pure disaster. If Henry Burris can become a superstar in the CFL, I'm guessin Tebow could find a spot somewhere.

How big are CFL defensive linemen?

Jesus your reading comprehension is terrible today. They were talking about playing them at the time they are 19 and 20 not if they were to stick togerher and mature together.

IF you take Canadas best world junior hockey team ever, the 2005 team with Crosby and a bunch of future HOFers they would have lost to an American Hockey league team.

JC, this was posted, and I was listing what was on the roster of one of their squads.

Burris was never a superstar in the CFL. He won one Grey Cup in'08 and never won a playoff game after that. He's been traded to my fuckin' Ticats. Smilin' Hank thought he was too cool for the CFL

Tim Tebow would be a disaster as a CFL QB. It's a passing league for God's sake and he can't pass worth shit. He might make a good slotback.

It's a passing league, but the standards for accurate passing are *way* lower than the NFL. The receivers are more open, there's more space to find them, and the pass rush isn't as fierce.

That's why Burris, star or not, can actually complete passes there while having trouble throwing it to the other side of the line of scrimmage in the NFL.

If you can't throw, you can't throw. Doesn't matter what league you're in.

Second and seven in the CFL, everyone knows a pass is on and they're blitzing. Tebow would be running around like a dog chasing his ass.

Minds much smarter than mine or yours who know a little bit about the CFL have pretty much said that Tebow would be a washout up north. Of course, it's all a moot point since he'll never come up here to make jackshit.

The state of Florida would implode

Nobody's smarter than me and I watched more CFL games this year than NFL games.

I know this is off topic, but really? Hockey's not my sport, but those guys were 20 years old and almost all ready to make the jump to the NHL. Sidney Crosby scored 102 points as a rookie in 2005-06. Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, Shea Weber, Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry and others played as NHL rookies that season. Much of the team had been drafted in 2003 or 2004 and had minor league experience. Perry and Getzlaf spent part of the 2005-06 season together in the AHL and dominated that level, each averaging almost two points a game.

A bunch of "smart" people said he'd never start in the NFL. Then they said he'd never win in the NFL. Also, as Rick alluded to, there's a much lower standard for good in the CFL than in the NFL. By the CFL's standards (which are similar to college), Tebow is more than capable.
