Awful lot of Hall of Very Good in there.

If either Modell or Adams gets in, any player with integrity would LEAVE the Hall. I will say this. Admitting Seymour Siwoff would be a baller move. So it won't happen. Few groups of humans are less baller than the Canton electorate.

The playoffs -- and end of the this miserable season - can't come soon enough.

As long as the Pro Football Hall of Fame is located in Northeast Ohio, it will never include Art Modell. The locals would torch the place.
Can't say I'd blame them. They didn't deserve to lose their team. But neither did Baltimore in 1984.

Quick gambling question for my fellow degenerates. Does anyone know why the point spread vig/odds on certain games migrate up and down?
The standard vig is -110 on straight bets with the spread, and it stays there 99 percent of the time. I was looking over my tickets for this weekend, though, and noticed that the Steelers were -120 and the Saints were even money. I've seen that a few other times, but not often enough to chalk it up to any one factor.

Goalmouth, are you saying the entire NFL season has been awful from an artistic standpoint (I'd have to disagree vigorously) or are you a fan of one of the downtrodden outfits like the Jets, Redskins or Bengals?

This has been a weird season on a couple of fronts.
A lot of the playoff berths are getting locked up, and by the end of the weekend this might change, but it feels like it's been a while since we've gone into Week 17 with all of the playoff teams having something to play for. We might not see as many players sitting next week as we normally see.

On the other end of the spectrum, there have been five or six teams that have claimed the title of "worst in the league" at various points, and none of them are the team that will finish with the worst record.
The Bengals have lost seven games by eight points or less and have been generally competitive. They haven't bottomed out for a 2-3 week stretch like the Dolphins (Weeks 1-2), Jets (Weeks 3-4), Redskins (Weeks 4-11) and Lions/Panthers (Weeks 12-16) have.

Does Rich Eisen keep screwing up "Watson" and "Winston" or has the egg nog just hit me hard?

I think they said the Bucs have a guy who played college basketball, college football and college baseball. At three schools. (One school per sport.)

He's had a rough first half with that, but he did call himself out for it. Joked that people are going to make a drinking game of it.
It doesn't help that the Bucs have a receiver named Watson, and Winston has thrown a couple of passes his way. On the second one he tripped up again and said, "Winston throws to Watson ... drink ... for 10 yards to the 30."

Do you think if the Bucs didn't script their plays like most teams do, and just called in the first series to Winston on the helmet it would cut down on his picks?

    @Batman
It's usually on a key number, like 3 or 7.

Books don't necessarily like to move off those numbers in fear of getting trounced, so they will gently try to influence the betting by increasing/decreasing the juice.
If you are paying 120, the other side is getting it at even money.
