Because they would have had 44. The play would have been to take 3 knees and RB wouldn’t have gotten hurt. Bengals would have kicked it with like 12 seconds to go.

    Did not hit the ground.

Denver had time for an imperfect, though impressive, drive. Burrow's TD doesn't look too smart now.

Don’t get it. They had multiple chances to drain the clock and kick it at or very near the end.

Payton was furiously looking through his play sheet after the TD — suggesting he was going to go for two. That would have been a bad idea. For his team, a tie is as good as a win. It secures a playoff spot.

You can’t assume the FG. Also you’ve got to believe your D can get a stop.

Damn I watch a guy like Lutz, a discard and wonder why the 49ers used a 3rd on a PK who is one of the worst in the league, he can’t even kick touchbacks.

Respectfully disagree. Denver called TO with 1:39 after the first down. If the Bengals take a knee 3 times (with 3 seconds coming off of the clock each play), then there is 10-12 seconds left when the Bengals are kicking a 30 yarder and the Broncos would have had no chance to respond.

Edited to add that of course there could have been a doink!
