Would have been an all-time blooper had Bryant knocked down Brown.

I was talking about the touchdown pass to Brown. Great job by Brown to get free, but I was impressed by Roethlisberger's ability to anticipate it and make the throw.

Tomlin is saying that Nelson created the confrontation after the game in his press conference. He also said that Bell's knee seems to be structurally sound, but he isn't sure if Bell will be able to play next week.

I don't think any NFL coach has to teach his players to be cheap and dirty. There are plenty of football players who will do those things on their own.

As long as he's eligible to play and the Steelers have room on the roster, they can sign him. I remember the last time the Eagles made the Super Bowl, one of their tight ends got hurt in the championship game. They replaced him with a guy who had played for them for several years, got cut and left football, and got a call at his construction job that Monday asking if he was interested in re-signing with the team to play in the Super Bowl.
The Patriots also infamously cut a guy the night before the Super Bowl a couple of years ago.

Tiquan Underwood. Weren't going to use him, but IIRC they were worried about depth on the D-line so they brought up a DL from the practice squad.

Rice might be the best option available, but I wonder if the Steelers would really go that route. How much help can he be after not playing for so long? Would it be enough to be worth taking the public relations hit?

Speaking of injuries, one thing became even more clear after watching tonight's game. The Steelers are better defensively when Troy Polamalu sits. Allen was outstanding in his place and Polamalu is out of position far too often these days.

    A typical Abbott idiotic statement.

It makes you wonder when that occurred with the Lions. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if that kind of behavior was encouraged/tolerated under Schwartz (sp?). I seriously doubt Caldwell or Teryl Austin is encouraging that, but they're certainly not stopping it either.

  11. Even with injury to Bell, I really like the Steelers chances at making the Super Bowl.
With Bell back they are even better.
That said, facing the Ravens w/o Bell is a scary prospect. Not because of his rushing or pass-catching ability but for pass protection against Ngata, Suggs, Mosley and the blitz packages. A 170-pound Dri Archer isn't much of a cushion to protect Roethlisberger. I think Harris will do well as a running back. But again, blitz pick up is the concern.

I think the Steelers offense can best anybody in the AFC right now.
