Didn't hate the black Lions gear, might have gone with a silver lion with black markings though on the helmet.

Remember the initial reaction to the Stafford for Goff trade? Obviously Stafford won a SB with the Rams, but the take on Goff was that the Lions were just going to eat the contract and draft someone in a year or two. Since then, Goff has made one more Pro Bowl than Stafford has and the the TDs to picks is 95/44 (Stafford) to 115/39 (Goff) And the Lions received TWO ones and a third. Hell of a deal by the Lions.

I understand NBC is covering the Bucs-Commanders next week, hence the deep dive at halftime, but um, there was a game for the top seed in the NFC going on - maybe you focus on that? Kind of bizarre they spent the bulk of the their time on 3-6 match-up regardless.

If I've learned anything in the two games that Jayden Daniels has had to check out of, it's that I'm not at all concerned about Marcus Mariota's ability to pinch hit. He was fantastic yesterday. Maybe he's no longer a full-time starter in the league, but he can run basically the same things that JD can and he looked pretty spry when he needed to run the read option. Should be a fun game next Sunday night. Sure, the Bucs won earlier this season, but Week 1 for a rookie QB making his first start might as well have been two seasons ago.

I'm not sure one bad game will knock Darnold down to taking bridge quarterback money. Someone will overpay for him if the Vikings don't tag him.

You are a thief of joy. Let me have this last shred of hope!

Also praying for the Rams to humiliate him just to be safe.

Four games ago, the Steelers were two games up on the Ravens in the AFC North with a win over Baltimore in hand. Now they are the sixth seed and a 9.5-point underdog for their first-round game in Baltimore. Sounds about right after what we've seen the last four weeks. This is a good chance for Lamar Jackson to show he can overcome his past struggles. He has not been his best in the playoffs and, the most recent meeting of the two teams aside, he has struggled more often than not against the Steelers. Pittsburgh is playing like absolute crap, so I fully expect the Ravens to trample the Steelers Saturday night.

The big question mark for the Ravens is the status of Zay Flowers, who injured his knee Saturday. He had a big game when the Ravens beat the Steelers and a relatively quiet day in the game Pittsburgh won earlier this season.

LOL. Maybe I want him for the Steelers. I think he stays in Minnesota, but I wouldn't hate to see the Steelers sign Darnold and let Wilson and Fields go elsewhere.

You get 1 of the 4.
    Fields
    Wilson
    Darnold
    Rodgers

My personal thought is that Minnesota wont franchise him just to sit behind JJ

Last night raised some concerns, but I still think Darnold is the best of that group.

Fields still can't read defenses. If a pass calls for touch or loft on the ball, he can't throw it. He waits for guys to get all the way open instead of anticipating, so he is often late. Other than that, he's fine.

Wilson has lost just enough that he can't get away with his bad habits any longer.

    Rodgers is done.

You're assuming they are set on starting McCarthy next season. I'm not sure that is true. They could franchise Darnold and give McCarthy a year to learn, then make a decision on their long-term direction after 2025.

The sense you get is that the Vikings absolutely love McCarthy and there was a very real chance he was going to play this year before the knee injury.

Before last night, his performance over the last three months had convinced me that the Vikings had to find a way to make the money work to keep Darnold. Let's just say that after last night I'm no longer firm in that belief, and I now think they will do the same thing with Darnold they did with Cousins, and make it look like they made an effort to keep him but happily let someone else overpay him.
