NFL Week 2 Running Thread

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Tommy_Dreamer, Sep 10, 2008.

  1. Crennel was just gutless, opting to kick the field goal with three minutes and change left. Just gutless.

Everyone knew there would be no way the Browns would get that far down again. And the field goal just cut it to a four-point game. They still needed a touchdown.

    Awful clock management all around.

I think Crennel just lost me.

You think she would have been polite back and not asked any more questions about it?

I wasn't sold on Crennell after last year, and so far this year he's on the fast track to getting his contract bought out.

Cowher used to play and coach in Cleveland. I'm close to begging........

  6. There's no excuse for the bungled clock management at the end of the first half, and toward the end of the game. Ugh, I just KNEW they'd find a way to lose in the most frustrating way possible. What a waste of a Sunday night.

Iw as telling someone else...if you had told me this afternoon they'd lose by 4 to the Steelers, I'd have taken it joyfully. But this was actually worse, because this time I was INVESTED. And then just watched them remind me why I shouldn't let myself care.

That's exactly what I was doing. Well, more pacing than squirming. Even after Parker's big run that could have allowed them to run off the clock, except he let himself get knocked out of bounds. At least they hung on.

The Steelers made enough plays to win, but they weren't sharp. Luckily for them, they were playing the Browns.

On a semi-related topic, the officials definitely blew it not calling the late hit on Roethlisberger by Shaun Rogers.

Are there 12 offensive lineman crying their eyes out about the game that just happened? :)

Cowher coaching the Raiders? No one with a functional brain cell will touch that job until Al Davis separates himself from the franchise (however that occurs).

So Rich Kotite is the next Raiders head coach?

Shoot, I may have to hover over the waiver wire Tuesday morning. Even if he bombs, he's no worse than what I've gotten so far -- a total of ONE fucking point in two weeks.
