Not after Anderson directs a high-powered offense to within a win of the playoffs.

If they go 8-8 or worse, sure. It's easy to make a switch after that. But for three-quarters of the season, the Browns were one of the most exciting teams in the league behind Anderson. Tough to turn back to the unproven Quinn after that.

The 2007 draft produced starters in franchise OT Joe Thomas (No. 3 overall) and cornerbacks Eric Wright (second round) and Brandon McDonald (fifth round), Derek Anderson insurance with Brady Quinn (first round) and backup wide receiver Syndric Steptoe (seventh round).

Seems like one solid draft to me.

They don't have the horses. A .500 team at best.

what happened *today*? few parlay losses hurt like this one. up 14-0 and cruising. and then it went to shit against the 49ers! makes zero sense.

I was talking future drafts. Sam said it wouldn't take multiple solid drafts to fix the team. I said I'd settle for one (to fix the team).

Sorry for the misunderstanding...and the earlier snark. Been a long day. I've edited to remove.

    You're awfully optimistic.

They might be hard-pressed to go 5-11, even in a division with the Rams and Niners.

Cards can probably start making plans for their first home playoff game since 1721.

I stopped betting on football in 1997 because of days like that, Songbird. Sorry.

Just saw a highlight of Jason Campbell's long, game-winning touchdown to Moss.

Wow. Deep, accurate, from a collapsing pocket. That was a pro's throw.

I imagine the Cards schedule is pretty easy (in that division, I guess that goes without saying), but if Seattle keeps this up, hell the Cards may just run away with the division, even if their record is 9-7.

I don't get those who are down on Campbell. When I've seen him, he's been a lot better than worse.

It is optimistic. With the injuries piling up they could lose 12 games. Holmgren should have walked last winter. All signs pointed toward it being a lost season no matter who was coaching.

    And fuck the Cardinals, too.
