And lost more. He's a very good QB overall, but that 1-3 title game record hangs over his head a bit.

I don't consider his loss last night part of a pattern of losing big games. It was Week 2 on the road. Not the end of the world.

Did Matt Millen get fired yet?
When both Bill Simmons and Screamin A can take shots at you, it's time....

The Eagles are in a tough spot with McNabb. Yeah, there are better quarterbacks out there. Yeah, there are guys who can win the big one while McNabb runs an efficient six-minute drill and gacks away some wins. But are there really more than 7 or 8 guys in the league you can honestly say are better than he is? And are any of them available?
No. You're not prying Manning from the Colts, Brady from the Pats or Brees from the Saints.
Which means they're stuck with McNabb. He may never get the Eagles a Lombardi Trophy, but he'll get them a hell of a lot closer to it than anyone else they could acquire.

You're perfectly correct. McNabb has been and is a very good quarterback. He's not a Hall of Famer nor an All Pro, but was named to 5 consecutive Pro Bowls. You can't say he was never surrounded by talent because he did play in 4 NFC CHampionship games.

Some folks think he's great and they'd be wrong.

He got the most out of his abilities.

So winning playoff games that get you to the NFC Championship aren't big games? How may QB's get to 4 NFC Championship games?
I'm not saying he is the guy I would want in a big game but you could do a lot worse.

And, only for one season did McNabb have ANY wide receiver worth half a crap. The year they won the NFC.

If McNabb is the QB for Dallas for the last three years (forget the TO crap) Dallas would at least have ONE!!! playoff win.

But Owens didn't play in the Divisional Playoof and NFC Championship game, if I recall correctly.

That is correct, which actually plays into Simon's argument in favor of McNabb.

The Eagles went to the divisional round one year with Torrance Small catching passes and Darnell Autry running the ball.

McNabb is a damn good QB, not a top 5 QB but between 6-10. He'll be hard to replace.
