Pressboxer, you should read your history book. The incident happened in 1968 at Franklin Field, then the home of the Eagles. It was opened in 1895. The Vet, known to many as Veterans Stadium, opened in 1970.
The team now plays at The Linc, Lincoln Financial Field.

 

I've been to an Eagle/Cowboy Monday nighter in Philly.

The fans act like vermin. Every third word out of their mouths is f**k. Sure as hell wouldn't bring a kid to that environment.
Beyond disgraceful.

 

Ben, I've never been to a Monday night affair that was a night on the town. Don't pick on Cowboys-Eagles fans. You could say the same for Raider fan, Brown fan and definitely Bronco fan. Monday night seems to bring out the nutjobs.

 

Bro, I've seen a lot of pro football from the stands, and that was the worst I've experienced. Only other that came close was a Foxboro Monday-nighter before the Pats went all hoity-toity. Drunktank Central.

 

Drunk doesn't necessarily = asshole.

Saint games bring drunkenness to a whole, new genteel level.

 

You're right; my mistake. The Eagles haven't had a decent receiver . . .

 

Philly fans just can't handle their drink. They're generally vile even before they've had their first. If they've had all day to get tuned up, it's not going to be good.

 

Don't start with Philly fans getting tanked up. I've seen more than my share of Jets Fans and Giants Fans doing flying drop kicks in the upper levels, Raider and Browns fan pissing in beer cups and bottles and makinkg it rain. And if you watched the MNF telecast, how often did you see anyone inside Texas Stadium without a brewski in their hand?
Drinking at NFL games is not the problem. It's people who can't control themselves.

 

At a Cowboys-Eagles MNF game in Philadelphia, and I was at the one I think people here are talking about, the Vet parking lot got cranking before 4 p.m. It's not like it was going to make them friendlier.

 

Again, that's at every Monday Night Football game. Atlanta is just as rowdy as Green Bay which is just as rowdy as Miami. It's a Monday Night thing. People get tanked up and lose their minds. It's not a Philly thing by any stretch of the imagination.

 

That's either Raider Fan or Dolphin Fan. LOL
