It's forgotten. I tend to rant about it when I've had too much to drink. But as far as investing yourself in the outcome of a game, those days are dead and gone, and it ended that night.

Actually this has been one of the most talked about issues on this board since that day. It just doesn't seem to die. Every now and then it comes to the forefront on the NFL threads and sidetracks current topics. It is fun to see the Steelers fans get riled up about it every time though :D

At least LJB has the guts to admit he cares, rather than rant and whine about it, then try to back away like a certain poster on this thread. Plus, I have to respect the effort he puts in when he posts still images from the game.

Honestly, it's just the conspiracy theory crap garbage that bug me, mostly because it amazes me that anybody is dumb enough to actually believe it.

Nah, seeing the single Seattle fan get riled up is good enough for me.

Outofplace, I didn't whine about the Super Bowl. I simply pointed out the hysterical irony of Steeler fans bitching about officials in a game they WON when in the eyes of most non-Steeler fans, Super Bowl XL was an ass-reaming like none seen before in a championship game. Methinks though doth protest, etc.

there is more than one Seattle fan. The officiating in that game was awful but I do not believe in the cospiracy theories. I think the refs and the Hawks had a shitty night.

I was joking JC, trust me, the second that game ended I was thinking about listening to people gripe about refs (who allegedly tried to give the game at Indy to the Colts).

The refs did not make Bettis fumble the ball, and they did not help Ben stop a three-on-one fastbreak down the field.

If McNabb was feeling queasy before, the fact that Brian Westbrook has two broken ribs now won't make him feel any better.

No, you whined about it. Calling Super Bowl XL an "ass-reaming like none seen before in a championship game," is definitely whining. Perhaps you would like me to send you a Terrible Towel to wipe your eyes with.

The call on Harrison last night was awful. It is part of an ongoing problem with the rules on roughing the passer being enforced far too inconsistently, which I think merits discussion. In relation to the game last night, it also makes the victory for me more satisfying as a Steelers fan. In both respects, it was a comment worth making, and if something similar happens the next time Pittsburgh plays, I will do it again.

And I'll probably end up offering you a towel to dry your eyes with again, too.

I'm mostly teasing. What more can I say, the game was very poorly officiated. It wasn't meant to be.

I know it, LJB. I meant what I said. Despite our past disagreements on this topic, I respect your opinion and how you handle the discussion. We disagree, but that is natural given the perspectives we approach it from.

And in other news, the sun is bright. Seriously though, Westbrook is either that snakebit or he's just the best fragile running back out there today. The man has serious talent but every time you look up he's adding another injury to his medical files. I know if I were a Philly fan I'd have no hair left on my head.

    Anyway,

Thoughts on tonight's game? Looks like it could be a shootout between Bush and Peterson. Then again, Minnesota's defense might show up and hold them down.
