The NFL needs to tamp down on the time-honored, unequivocal declaration that “all scoring plays are reviewed.” Clearly, that is not literally accurate. It took a wacky one to alert us to this point, but now we know.

Belichick has always said if you are going to review some things, you should review everything.

I don't know how two refs missed that play. Now if they threw the flag, it WOULD have been reviewable, yes?

While we're waiting for Sunday, here's a walk-off rouge from the CFL.

Forgot where I saw it, but an article quoted one of the officials as saying neither one of them had a clear shot of the penalty.

I saw that too, but the play happened and was at least unobstructed from the ref. Don't know how you see the QB's head turn like that and not assume a facemask.

It was the last 2 minutes of the game. Everything which can be reviewed is reviewed on every play, whether it resulted in a score or not. As bad of a missed call as it was, that just isn’t reviewable.

I agree, but we are all taught: Don't assume. Have to see the full thing.

They aren’t reviews for penalties, not sure why people thought penalties are reviewable.

Goff getting the crap beat out of him early against the Titans.

I’m pretty sure Cleveland wins eight or nine games if they’d just started Jameis from Day 1.
