Was Cassel even invited to the combine? I don't think Parker was. One of the Rooneys had seen Parker play in high school and suggested the Steelers take a look at him. His speed did the rest.

Brad Johnson had a similar beginning to his career to Cassel. He was primarily a backup at Florida State, though IIRC he did play more in college than Cassel.

Did anybody hear Coach Hoodie after the game today? I hope somebody at least had the balls to press him about running up the score.

    Classless scumbag.

It's also not the brightest thing in the world, given the huge drop from Brady to his backup.

After the Dallas game, I said to everyone I knew that if the Cowboys didn't like the Pats running up the score, they should stop them. Nomally, I don't want to hear the "running up the score" whine, but toay's game wasn't even competitive. If NE runs the ball and scores wth 38-0 4th-quarter lead, I got no problem with that. But leaving your starting QB in and throwing a TD to a startng WR at that point is classless.

With the way Belichick is alienating and angering everyone, Brady and the Pats are lucky Charles Martin doesn't play for the Colts.

Those poor Redskins. Whatever will all those millionaires do? I feel so sorry for them for sucking. This isn't high school folks. If you don't want them to score, get your million dollar ass out there and make a fucking play.

This has nothing to do with the Patriots' opponents. It has everything to do with sportsmanship. By all means, when the game's still in doubt, or even remotely competitive, put your proverbial foot on your opponent's throat. But if you can't show sportsmanship when you're blowing out a team in the fourth quarter, you never will.

I'd never root for a player on any team to get hurt, but if somebody lands on Brady's knee and doe ssome damage while he throws his 8th touchdown pass in the fourth quarter of a game that has been over since the first, I will shed no tears.

That's the risk they are running by having him out there. I agree. But anyone calling for cheap shots has far less class then BB.

Should the NE starting defense have been out there before the Skins scored in the fourth? Wasn't the game over by then?

I'm not calling for cheap shots, just pointing out that Belichick's actions may put his star player in danger of a cheap shot.

They cut away (nice job) and I did not see if Gibbs shook BB hand. Did he?

Not saying you did. I think Belichick and Brady probably understand that risk.

No it is not right to go after a guy's career. I suggested it before, but I would have a player take a 15 yarder or two to let the other team know that I did not fucking approve of any lead that reached past 40.
