I don't know how "nice" he is. I don't think anybody who achieves that level of success in a cut throat field is "nice." (and he's a homophobe, but I digress). He is, however, not nearly the jerk nor as classless as Belichick, and those things matter to me.

You realize we're talking about football, right?

If somebody rips Brady's head off in the fourth quarter of a meaningless game, it will be Bellichek's fault.

He shouldn't be out there against a team that has already been embarrassed.

    I prefer a jerk over a homophobe...

You're not talking about hard-hitting. You're talking about deliberately stepping on players after the play. That's classless.

    You're right that its classless.

About as classless as throwing and going for it on fourth down up 40 in the fourth quarter.

How long before someone makes that comparison on the field?

    Not really.

Both show little to no respect for your opponent.

Was talking to a friend today who's a Pats fan. He's scared shitless that BB's gonna get Brady hurt. The criteria, though: It'll have to be a team that doesn't have anyone on offense worth losing to a cheap shot in return.

    His money's on the Dolphins.

One is purposely trying to hurt someone. The other is playing football as hard as you can, which is what you are supposed to do. There's a big difference.

I'd like to see an agreed-upon formula certified by SportsJournalists.com for when you are supposed to stop trying.

Up by 30 in the fourth quarter?
    Up by 45 at halftime?

    Let's get something concrete.

  10. Good God, ESPN pulled out the knee pads for Favre tonight. Kornheiser is deep throating right now - comparing him to Michael Jordan. ::) I understand Favre's good. I know he's going to the Hall of Fame. I don't mind him personally. But the media dribble is so bad I'm tempted to hate the guy.

The logical leaps people make continually astound me.

Who said New England was supposed to stop trying?

Why can't you try running the fucking ball?

  12. I can't imagine anyone on here really cares they're running up the score. I don't, but I think it's stupid.

If you're going to run up the score use your backups.
