Which is certainly one way to look at it. But a coach less obsessed with his own ego would run the ball more and eat the clock. Like I said, he likely cost his defense a shutout by continuing to try and score.

Not to mention, New England might just end up in close game, and might want to know how it reacts in a situation where it has to grind it out on the ground. A coach less obsessed with his own ego might be trying to get better while he had the chance.

Oh good, they're repeating the thing w/ Deanna Favre.

Oh come on. It's one thing to rip the Patriots and Belichick for running up the score. I have no problem with that. But those who make it like they're concerned about one of his players getting hurt, or even worse your scenario about needing to know how to grind out the clock in a close game is foolish.

Obviously those situations to grind out the clock would be completely different in a 45-0 game than they would be in a 20-17 playoff game, plus it's not like this team hasn't been in that situation plenty in the past, and finally they'd probably throw in those situations anyways, as has been their tendency over the past few years.

Have they mentioned Vicodin or Percoset yet?

Do you honestly thing NE will never end up in a situation where they want to kill clock more than they want to score?

    It happens.

    Deanna did. ESPN didn't.

"Brett Favre had everything -- a beautiful wife, fame, any money. But he blew it all on Vicodin, hookers and limos.

The Steelers are fourth in the NFL in scoring with 26.3 points per game. The Ravens have been pretty damn erratic on defense so far and they also have a pretty good history of moving the ball against Dick LeBeau defenses.

In other words, I'll take the over, thanks. :)

What do you mean? Throw out a hypothetical. Because no, I can't think of a situation where NE would sacrifice points in order to run clock.

Up by two points, ball at their own 6-yard line, two minutes left to play. I'm trying to kill clock there and not have to punt.
