Well, yes that's common sense. But at the same time, the RB wouldn't break off a run and then fall on the 1 to keep from scoring and run clock.

NE won't be able to prepare for that situation in the final minutes of a 45-0 game IMO, and that goes back to the original point.

 

No one's saying that you have to not score, or even not try to score.

How about just calling as many runs as passes? Is that too much to ask?

As bad as this has been tonight (and it's been painful), it's not on the same scale as the Tedy Bruschi apotheosis.

 

Well that's different than saying that they should run it that situation because they can use that to prepare for times when they'll need to run clock. I don't disagree that it'd be wise to run the ball late in the game.
