So the Houston punter, an actual kicker, couldn't handle the fg try? A freaking running back is a better kicker?
What in the f is the punter doing in practice every day?

Dobbs was a guy while in Cleveland I kept looking around wondering if I was the only one to notice that he seemed to know what he was doing. I didn’t understand the need to dump him for a flavor of the day like DTR.

Well, I feel bad, and yes, I should.

If Mike Vrabel was coaching the Vikings, Dobbs still might not be named QB1 today.

Those are different types of kicking. He isn't the only punter in the NFL who can't placekick. I know Percy Harvin can't do it worth a damn, either.

Do they really have similar facial features or is it just the lack of eyebrows, bald head, and similar skin tone?

Punting, and holding for the kicker.

Another factor is that if the punter is the backup kicker, then you also need a backup holder. Some teams may want to just keep the punter as the holder and have a different backup kicker. That way, only one part of the three-part operation is affected instead of two.

Dobbs is a smart guy. That is finally translating to the field. In the past, when he got an opportunity, the game always seemed to move too fast for him.

I really hope somebody had the RB on their Fantasy team and the points he got for the FG mattered in their league.

In watching Dobbs, who I'd never really seen before yesterday, I wondered if concerns about arm strength might have limited his chances, as his motion looked a bit funky. Considering the crazy situation he was thrown into he seemed to show a lot of game awareness and poise. And if you've been watching Kirk Cousins for six years it was really stunning to see a quarterback wearing purple run like that.

In the past, the game awareness and poise hadn't always been there and he has struggled to make certain throws. He had some rough moments early in the game yesterday, too.
