We all know better than that. It wasn't a good throw. It was off target, forcing Wallace to make a great catch and stumble a bit, but it didn't matter because Mitchell took a terrible angle and didn't even slow Wallace down.

Also beat Artie Burns on the play, though he had played very well so far in his first NFL start. Receivers are going to catch some balls. The key is to keep it from becoming a big play.

That throw was probably there if Heyward-Bey ran through the ball instead of stopping and reaching.

Overall, Roethlisberger looks terrible. He has made some bad decisions, such as the ball Mosley should have intercepted on the last series, and other times his throws lack zip and accuracy. The previous third down, the announcers talked about a miscommunication, bur really it was just a terrible throw right into the turf when Sammie Coates was open.

  3. Agreed. Roethlisberger looks awful.
    Pouncey is back.

The throw to Mosely was horrendous. And now the game is becoming a flag fest. Favoring Baltimore.

Someone else brought the post about the lack of insight from announcing crews. I think that's sorely missing from this game. I'd like to see shots of the defense, why isn't Bronw getting open? Why isn't the passing game going? Are the Ravens playing a dime? Man to man?

Incredibly sloppy effort by the Steelers. Thomas just handed the Ravens the ball at the Pittsburgh 47 with a roughing the punter penalty. He was pushed, so I understand Tomlin questioning the call, but Pittsburgh has more penalty yards than offensive yards so far.

Erving-on-Irving crime. Too bad the game isn't being played at old Texas Stadium, then it could have been Erving-on-Irving in Irving.

They are daring him to throw to anybody but Brown. Coates has been invisible with the exception of the one third down that Roethlisberger missed him. They just don't have enough at receiver with Bryant suspended and Wheaton hurting. They seemed to think Rogers was going to help this year, but he hasn't done much of anything.

Maybe Tucker makes it from 54 yards out, but the Steelers made his live easier by being caught with 12 men on the field. They could not have played worse in that first half and they are actually lucky to be down only 10 points.

  8. Jesus this game is ugly.
    No fun to watch.

Maybe sliding isn't always the best way to avoid injury...

How the hell did they leave the tight end that wide open? They darn near handed him the first down, and at least made it fourth-and-inches.

I'm amazed the Steelers didn't jump on that fourth down given the lack of discipline they have showed in this game.

Roethlisberger just had Sammie Coates behind everybody for what should have been a long touchdown, but missed him. The Steelers still haven't converted a third down and that 10-point deficit might as well be 30.

Edit: Ravens finally intercept one on the next drive. It was a tipped ball at the line, but he was throwing into coverage. They actually might have been better off starting Jones.

The Pittsburgh defense has been decent outside of Mike Mitchell's failures. They just held after the interception, forcing Baltimore to settle for a field goal and a 13-0 lead.

That play-calling is a joke. Pouncey goes back out and they run twice up the middle? This game is over. I know they have injuries at receiver and Roethlisberger is off, but it really is amazing how bad they look with Roethlisberber, Bell and Brown all in the lineup.
