Because he's a 13-year player (12-year starter) as an interior defensive lineman who made an all-pro team, five pro bowls and won two titles while playing in two other Super Bowls?

If you weren't taking the Raiders seriously earlier, now's the time to start.

Al Michaels had the best line at the start "The Raiders are good again."

First time I've seen much of them this year. I was impressed.

  5. So was Casey Hampton. Who also anchored a stingier run defense.

Blair Walsh is getting tired of being asked about missed kicks. Hasn't occurred to him that the solution is to make kicks.

Vikings' Blair Walsh growing tired of reporters who ask about missed kicks every week

β€œIt is not that I am frustrated, but you guys have to understand, what do you want the answer to be?” Walsh said. β€œI want to be there for my team, of course I do, but come on, you ask the same question every week. 'Did it feel good?' 'Did I make it?' No, I didn't. 'Do I have to?' Yes. 'Do I want to?' Yes. I mean, if you've got something else, please. Seriously."

Except for the all-pro part and theyre numbers aren't close:

Hampton: 208 tackles, 9 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 2 recovered fumbles, 4 passes defended, 0 interceptions
Wilfork: 367 tackles, 16 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, 12 recovered fumbles, 24 passes defended, 3 interceptions

And Wilfork has only played nine more games to have that gap. He was a more impactful player.

I don't know how many double teams Hampton saw, but for years it was standard for Wilfork.

    The comparison is ridiculous.

Agreed. I'm not sure Wilfork is a Hall of Famer, either, but he was a better player than Hampton.

Becoming more and more convinced we're never going to see the full version of the Steelers offense. If it's not one of the dopes getting busted for smoking pot, it's Roethlisberger getting hurt. The Ravens have a pretty good defense, but the Steelers were totally flat. I'm going to the Dallas game this weekend in Pittsburgh and I'm not gonna be surprised if Pitt gets blown off the field like they did against Philly. The season could crater and then you have to talk about replacing Tomlin.

It is certainly possible, though the Steelers have shown a knack for avoiding those types of complete collapses under Tomlin.

I don't think we'll ever see the full offense. Certainly not this year due to Bryant's suspension. The hope at this point has to be that Wheaton returns and Green gives them more of a playmaker at tight end, but neither is a sure thing.
