    I lnow that's the running joke, but they got screwed out of a Sunday game when the Bills-Steelers got postponed. There was no way the winner of that game was going to turnaround and play on Saturday when both the Texas and Chiefs played Saturday and Baltimore had the bye.

    And once the Packers were locked into the 49ers, you knew that would be the late game on Saturday because the Philly-Tampa winner was going to be on Sunday regardless.

    Hot 2026 take: "These fucking Lions fans are so obnoxious. Two Super Bowl wins and they act like they've ruled the NFL for decades."

    I don’t have time and this is the wrong thread to dig into how stupid David Ubben’s tweet was.

    You can add the Commanders/WFT/Redskins to the list. Won three Super Bowls in a nine-year span. Since then:
    * No season with more than 10 wins.
    * Three playoff wins in 32 years, none since 2005.
    * Murdered RGIII's career by refusing to maintain the turf at FedEx Field
    * Dan Snyder
    * Dan Snyder
    * 15 seasons in that span with at least 10 losses, including three 13-loss seasons in the last 10 years
    * Cycled through dozens of quarterbacks
    * Dan Snyder

    No crushing playoff defeats or anything, but there is an entire generation of Washington football fans that knows nothing but misery and mediocrity. I was 15 when they won that Super Bowl over the Bills. It's been grim ever since.

    Part of being in that class is being in a city down on its luck, too. Cleveland, Detroit, Buffalo. It wasn’t just the futility of the team. It was that the city had nothing else to put its hope in.

    Note: Boston fans were horribly annoying long before the Patriots and Red Sox started winning championships.

    Used to love watching when the late game on CBS was the Redskins at old RFK with Madden and Summerall on the call. Joe Gibbs. The Hogs. A sign in the stands that said "Baseball in D.C." for no reason. Was such a tough place to play. Was such a tough team to play. No one under age 40 remembers or knows this.
