So is Suter. The longer Suter mulls it over, the long I think, well maybe the Oilers . . .

However, looking at the numbers that are being tossed out there -- 90 mil over 12 or 13 years -- I almost would prefer a guy like Matt Carle who likely falls into the 5x5 range.

Habs lock up Price for six years worth 39 million. Pretty good deal for one of the best goaltenders in the league.

Regarding, Semin, I believe the Red Wings should take a chance on him.

I never did really grasp the possibility he would leave. Insofar as Nash, it's the Rangers I've heard prominently mentioned.

I think they're waiting to see if they land Parise, if they don't I think a Semin deal will follow within hours. Maybe the Devils take a discounted flier on him to replace Parise as there is no way he can command the $6 mil he did last year.

Dream a little dream Beef. I find myself liking the Oillers more and more these days. Then they go ahead and re-sign that meathead Hordichuk. I would love to see them give Nashville a godfather offer for Weber.

Jagr signs a two year deal with the Stars.
    Edit: One year, not two

One year, $4.5 million for Jagr.

Might have missed it on here with the free agency news, but here's a news item for discussion.

Rafi Torres gets four games knocked off his 25-game suspension for his hit on Hossa in the playoffs.

He'll now miss just eight regular season games.

Just? He missed 13 playoff games which use to account for 2 regular season games. I would say 21 games with 13 of them being playoff games Is beyond harsh considering what the precedent was.

And you'd be wrong. Will Bettman knock four games off the time Hossa has missed because of Torres' cheap shot?

Coyotes forward Brett MacLean apparently suffered some sort of medical emergency last night and needed CPR. He's in the cardiac ICU in London, Ontario, right now but I haven't seen what condition he's listed in.

Wrong about what? Maybe I missed those previous suspensions that come remotely close to this one. If this is the standard the NHL wants to set than they better stick to it and suspend star players with the same set of rules. I bet you were fine with Keith getting only 5.
