My web editor sent me this and I'm ticked. Now I can't hate Tortorella as much:

Always have had a fascination with the California Golden Seals so I was saddened today to read Dave Hrechkosy died of brain cancer back in March.

Had a pretty brief NHL career but was the Calder runner-up to Eric Vail in 1974-75.

Former Seals P.R. man Len Shapiro told me several years ago "The Wrecker" worked for Coca-Cola in Salt Lake City. He later went on to successful stints as head of concessions at the University of Utah and Texas A&M.

Saw that earlier and immediately thought the same thing.

I've always thought Tortorella was basically a good guy but his approach to hockey is so intense that he turns a whole bunch of people off.

That's almost the perfect outdoor type facility for a hockey game, no screwed up sightlines like at a baseball stadium and you're not miles away from the action like you are in a football stadium. That would b pretty badass.

Correct. It's compartmentalization. He doesn't run around disliking people just because he can. And, obviously, he likes animals.

Found this funny. A 2008 article on Glendale banking on pro sports.

Three work stoppages, 20 years, one commissioner, one canceled season.
